Prisoners (2013) Review

Prisoners is 2013 movie directed by Denis Villeneuve about an abduction of two little girls and the subsequent events that follow in trying to find them. The plot might seem just like any other thriller movie but it is deep and multilayered that will keep the viewers guessing all the way up until the very end.

The casting and acting is simply outstanding. Hugh Jackman arguably gives one of the best performances of his career as the father of one of the abducted girls.  Paul Dano plays his part as the primary suspect brilliantly. Jake Gyllenhaal plays the mysterious lead detective tasked with finding the girls and delivers a stellar performance. All in all, the acting of the entire cast was powerful and emotional.

Denis Villeneuve has really outdone
himself as t
he directing in this movie is gripping and every little detail is looked after in making a small, suburban neighborhood feel as realistic as possible with a sense of dread.

This is not a feel-good movie, and will keep you guessing throughout from start to finish and that makes it makes it a must watch.
